Waste Pickup

Radioactive waste pick-up is every Tuesday. All paperwork should be completed by Tuesday morning and included with each container of waste.

To schedule a waste pick-up or delivery, please call the Department of Environmental Health & Safety @ 568-6585. Boxes for solid waste, along with a plastic liner, carboys and 1 gallon plastic jugs will be delivered each Tuesday according to your needs.

CARBOYS are not to be filled above the top line. If you fill above the line, you will be required to remove the excess liquid.

BOXES have to be 40 pounds or less.

DO NOT PLACE source vials with the solid waste. Source vials have the "tracking number" or "inventory number" on each vial, which is used to keep inventory.

Fees

The cost for waste pick-up is as specified below.

• $10.00 per 40 lb. box
• $15.00 per carboy
• No charge for source vials

Each department will be charged twice a year (January and July) for any waste pick-up.
