Faculty members who
need to procure radiation sources for research and/or
teaching purposes must be formally approved by the
Radiation Safety Committee.
All faculty,

must take the LSUHSC Radiation Safety Course, which is

the applicant has had previous on-the-job experience
handling radionuclides of a similar nature and quantity.
Applicants who lack experience must work under an
authorized investigator's approval to gain experience.
The Application Form is available in Word and Adobe
formats. Complete the application and mail directly to
Dr. Dennis Paul (dpaul@lsuhsc.edu), Department of
Pharmacology, MEB. |

committee meets at least three times per year.
All persons who handle
radiation for research or teaching purposes must meet the
requirements set by the Radiation Safety Committee. The
requirements also apply to temporary employees such as
work-study students and visiting scientists.
